6500. Quite a big number, isn’t it? That is how many spoken languages there are in the world. Because there are so many languages, it’s difficult to communicate ideas between different people in our world. In our small corner of Johns Creek, five teens have joined efforts in taking a small step to help bridge that barrier of language. GOAL, or Gathering of All Languages, created under the leadership of Aaron Choi and Jehyun Park, both rising seniors at Northview High School, is a non-profit organization intended to provide English translations of foreign texts ranging from books to movies. Currently, the project works on texts in four languages, Chinese, led by Sharon Zhang, French, led by Cathy An, Spanish, led by Patrick Zhou, and Korean, led by Derek Kim.
